For children 3 to less than 10 years of age, the nucleoside reverse transcriptase inhibitor (NRTI) backbone should be one of the following, in preferential order:
- Abacavir (ABC) + lamivudine (3TC)
- zidovudine (AZT) or tenofovir disoproxil fumarate (TDF) + 3TC (or FTC)
