Notes and Remarks
- 1.Whatever the level of provider, skills needed for D&E provision are greater than for a MVA/EVA done in earlier pregnancy and training needs are significantly higher.
- 2.Although usually performed at a higher-level facility, the procedure can still be done on an outpatient basis.
- 3.Health workers providing, or caring for women undergoing, abortion in the second trimester may have additional needs for professional and mentoring support.
