In children 2–59 months of age with chest indrawing (with or without fast breathing) and no danger sign (not able to drink or breastfeed, or vomits everything, or has had convulsions, or is lethargic or unconscious, or stridor or hypoxaemia) in settings with functional community health worker (CHW) programmes, WHO suggests the use of community-based care (oral amoxicillin for five days with follow-up visits) rather than standard care (first dose of antibiotics [oral amoxicillin] given by a CHW and referral to a health facility for further management)
