Non-invasive assessment of liver disease stage. APRI (aspartate aminotransferase-to-platelet ratio index) is recommended as the preferred non-invasive test to assess for the presence of significant fibrosis or cirrhosis among adults in resource-limited settings. Transient elastography (FibroScan®) may be a preferable non-invasive test in settings where it is available and cost is not a major constraint
