Notes and Remarks
- Integration requires suppport to overcome barriers to service uptake, use and engagement. Barriers exist at the individual, interpersonal, community and societal levels, including social exclusion, marginalization, criminalization, stigma, gender-based violence and gender inequality.
- Training on human sexuality promotes understanding of sexually diverse communities, especially LGBTQI people and adolescents and young adults seeking accurate sexual and reproductive health and rights information and services.
- Legal and policy barriers to sexual and reproductive health and rights services should be addressed, especially for adolescents.
- WHO strongly recommends integrating care for intimate partner violence and sexual assault into existing health services (43).
