ART should be considered as the primary treatment of eosinophilic folliculitis in eligible patients

Notes and Remarks

  • 1)Drugs: If betamethasone is not available other potent topical steroids, class III or above, may be used instead.
  • 2)If there is no response or a failure in response, evaluate for other causes of papular eruptions of HIV.
  • 3)Caution should be exercised in the use of oral antihistamines in infants under one year of age. Dosage needs to be adjusted in children by weight. Caution should also be exercised in the use of sedating antihistamines in children attending school.
